Mobile Identity Panel at Apigee I Love APIs Conference

Sep 09, 2014

I was honored to speak on the Mobile Identity Panel at the Apigee I Love APIs Conference. We discussed the changing nature of personal privacy and convenience as more and more users’ daily internet activity migrates from the desktop to mobile.

Apigee I Love APIs Conference

We discussed goals of several industry initiatives on mobile identity which include:

  • Changing the relationship between mobile carriers and subscribers – moving beyond being seen as just a “monthly service”
  • Reality that a new trust must be earned with the security and control of personal data and transparency of where and how it is used
  • Clear value-add benefits for adoption to occur – including user experience that meets expectations (as good, if not better than, top consumer social apps and personalized experiences)

The panel included David Andrzejek (Apigee Telecommunications GTM & Big Data), Marie Austenaa (GSMA VP & Head, Personal Data & Mobile), Ken Figueredo (Mobile Strategy Consultant).

(I was also excited today to see Apigee announce Zetta – an open source IoT API platform!)
