Mobile Identity Panel at Apigee I Love APIs Conference
I was honored to speak on the Mobile Identity Panel at the Apigee I Love APIs Conference. We discussed the changing nature of personal privacy and convenience as more and more users’ daily internet activity migrates from the desktop to mobile.
We discussed goals of several industry initiatives on mobile identity which include:
- Changing the relationship between mobile carriers and subscribers – moving beyond being seen as just a “monthly service”
- Reality that a new trust must be earned with the security and control of personal data and transparency of where and how it is used
- Clear value-add benefits for adoption to occur – including user experience that meets expectations (as good, if not better than, top consumer social apps and personalized experiences)
The panel included David Andrzejek (Apigee Telecommunications GTM & Big Data), Marie Austenaa (GSMA VP & Head, Personal Data & Mobile), Ken Figueredo (Mobile Strategy Consultant).
(I was also excited today to see Apigee announce Zetta – an open source IoT API platform!)
