About Kevin Flores
Kevin Flores is a product and design leader, coach, and speaker. He is the author of Find Your Inner Rebel and co-author, with Jeanine Flores, of the Design Career Handbook. He has spent more than three decades reinventing his career in Silicon Valley.
Career
Kevin studied industrial design at the University of Illinois before moving to the Bay Area and into interactive media. In the 1990s, he and Jeanine co-founded an agency that created CD-ROMs, digital video, and early websites for clients including Apple, Adobe, Cisco, Intel, and Microsoft. Their work was featured in Daniel Donnelly’s In Your Face: The Best of Interactive Interface Design (1996) and its follow-up, In Your Face Too! (2000), as well as in design and technology magazines, and was recognized with industry awards.
When his agency pivoted to software, Kevin expanded his role to product management. He spent the next decade freelancing for Fortune 500 companies and startups, and he worked for a pop star. As co-lead of an innovation team at Verizon, he co-authored 25 technology patents, 20 of them granted. He went on to lead product design teams at 23andMe and LinkedIn.

Today
Kevin coaches and mentors designers, product managers, and leaders at every career stage, speaks on design careers, leadership, and career reinvention, and advises teams on product and design. He also serves as an industry advisor to the design programs at Mission College and Diablo Valley College.
